TIME TO TEE OFF

WHO WILL WIN THE NIXON’S TROPHY WATCH AT THE OAKLEY KING OF GREENS?
Hossegor, FR – With one day to go, the countdown to the Oakley KING of GREENS proudly supported by Nixon has officially started.

Launched in 2013 in Munich, Oakley KING of GREENS has become a much-anticipated annual highlight reuniting the who’s who of the international action sports scene on the golf turf. Playing golf has become a popular activity amongst many action sports athletes who regularly enjoy spending some time on the greens in their time off – most famous action sports pros turned golfers include 11-times-world-champion surfer Kelly Slater or Nixon’s very own Paul Rodriguez, one of the finest skateboarder world-wide. After a stopover in London last year, the latest edition of the Oakley KING Of GREENS will tee off on the Faldo Course in Berlin on July 28th.

A new location is not the only change to the event, as it will feature a Captained Team Format this year, bringing together crews from skate, snowboard, surf, ski and bike battling for the overall team title in addition to the much sough-after individual Oakley KING of GREENS title. To put the cherry on top, Nixon chips in a one-of-a-kind trophy watch worth over $10,000 fueling up the competition even more.

Team captains include legendary snowboarder Devun Walsh (CAN); pioneering street skater Eric Koston (USA); free skier and 2x X Games gold medalist TJ Schiller (CAN); surfer and Big Wave Awards nominee Alain Riou; and mountain biker Cédric Gracia (FRA). They will be joint by King Of Greens regulars and top-class skateboarders Alain Goikoetxea (SPA) and Javier Sarmiento (SPA) who’ll be in Berlin to fly the Nixon flag. Both riders are passionate golfers, steadily perfecting their skills while stirring up the old-established scene rocking up in baggy pants and baseball caps – fingers crossed for both of them!

We are looking forward to finding out who will carry home the King Of Greens title and our custom timepiece this time – for those who can’t wait til July 28th, the official event trailer can be watched here.
